Cement consumption dropped by 34% in 2012, the biggest percentage drop in its history
2012 is closed even worse than the most pessimistic forecasts predicted by Oficemen in December. The total consumption of 2012 has been only 13.5 million  tons, a 34% less, representing the largest percentage decline suffered by the Spanish domestic market in its history. It should be traced back to 1936 to find one greater fall.
3rd Iberoamerican congress on self-compacting concretes
Madrid, 3-4 December 2012. The congress will bring together technicians, designers, researchers and scientists to promote a better understanding on common interests ranging from the most recent developments in components materials, to construction processes or structural performance. More information and programme in "events".
CSI launches guidelines for responsible quarrying
CSI launches a new “Guidelines on Quarry Rehabilitation”. The document provides practical guidance for managing the impacts of quarrying activities and ensuring that environments are properly revitalized.  The project was carried out by a group of member companies and is based on methods that they have successfully employed.
